Papa Wes
AKA Wes Meyer
About Me
Hi, I’m Papa Wes. I grew up in LaMarque, Texas, graduated High School there and worked for the LaMarque Fire Department from 1973 to 1979. I then moved to New Braunfels, Texas and worked for the New Braunfels Fire Department until I retired in 1998. I had started a training company called Rescue Training, Inc. in 1996 which became Rescue Training International a few years later. The company is still going and is now run by my daughter Camille.
I retired from teaching last year (for the most part) and still help out with the office part. Hence I started a new direction as of December 1, 2021. Papa Wes Adventures was formed and I have been slowly building it up week by week.
My Co-Pawlet is Xena. She is a 6 year old Black Mouth Cur and pretty much constant companion. She is trained as my service dog. I have a complete back seat bed for her which is built up level with my center console. On long trips she will lay on the bed with her head by my side. If I drift onto the rumble dots on the side of the road, she will sit up and put her paw on my shoulder to make sure I am awake.
The focus now is to write and record adventures of a retired senior citizen having as much fun as I can doing the things I like to do.
